Afghanistan and Iraq are most certainly revolutions, revolutions that are not complete. It's hard to take care of yourself when that oppressive government you mentioned is occupying your nation and influencing all of your politicians, and using drone strikes on all your neighbors/allies/trade partners. I think fighting back is at least a sign of trying to take care of themselves. We would want "help" in that form?

Sorry they are not, we went in because of perceived threats to us, some where correct, some where lies. There was no revolution. Everything happened by our hand, not the revolution of the people there. For everyone who is having a hard with the definition.

revolution[ rev-uh-loo-shuh n ]
noun

an overthrow or repudiation and the thorough replacement of an established government or political system by the people governed.

I haven't been able to keep up with with this thread as il a little disposed at this time, but I did take time to read the platform of the Republican and democratic parties concerning the 2nd ammendmemt.
Mitt has said that he recognizes the extrordinary number of jobs and other economic benefits that are produced by the hunting/shooting community, the least of which is to fund wildlife and habitat conservation. (Pittman/Robertson regulation tha puts a tax on sportsmen to fund wildlife)
Romney has also pledged to expand and enhance opportunities for Americans to hunt and shoot.

Romney has also pledged in the platform to protect and defend the 2nd ammendmemt

Here is president Barry's
, and the DNC platform response to the second ammendmemt:

...................do you see it?

Yep, there is no mention of the second ammendmemt in the DNC platform.

Well, if we're going by what Mitt said, then here's exactly what he's pledged to do over the years (pretty consistent):

http://www.ontheissues.org/mitt_romney.htm

* No new gun legislation; enforce the existing laws. (Oct 2012)
* Fully investigate "Fast and Furious" program. (Oct 2012)
* Newt Gingrich's gun, crime & drug issues compared to Mitt's. (Feb 2012)
* 1994: backed 5-day waiting period on gun sales. (Jan 2012)
* Find common ground with pro-gun & anti-gun groups. (Jan 2012)
* 2002: I will not chip away at MA's tough gun laws. (Nov 2011)
* 2008: "Lifelong" devotion to hunting meant "small varmints". (Jan 2010)
* 2002: My positions won't make me the hero of the NRA. (Nov 2008)
* GovWatch: 1994: did not “line up with the NRA”. (Feb 2008)
* Support the 2nd Amendment AND the assault weapon ban. (Jan 2008)
* I support the work of the NRA, but disagree sometimes. (Dec 2007)
* Ok to ban lethal weapons that threaten police. (Dec 2007)
* Compromise MA gun bills were net gain for gun owner. (Aug 2007)
* Supports Second Amendment rights but also assault weapon ban. (May 2007)
* Will support assault weapons bill and Brady Bill. (Aug 1994)

Ryan has no say, no influence and has been politically neutered(sp). Only a GOP congress can save the 2A if Mitt wins. I really doubt Mitt would appoint conservative judges either.
