I’m not sure about a tax being unconstitutional if it goes through Congress and becomes law.
Would be challenged in the courts for (as tRidiot stated) restricting a right to those who could not afford a tax on firearms "in common use".

The Biden plan as I heard it, was a $200 tax like a NFA weapon on any semi-auto weapon AND any mag that holds more than 10 rounds.
The problem with any tax on firearms is that they will be challenged in court for discriminating against lower income tiers that would not be able to pay a tax (on a right).
I'm saying it would be easily demonstrable that this is a punitive tax with the express purpose of restricting the exercise of a guaranteed right.
