Another vote for the Mossberg Plinkster (702). For a smaller shooter the Plinkster is short, lightweight and reliable. The one we have eats everything we have fed it.

Yanno,,,
I own a Mossie 702 Plinkster.

I agree that it is a fine performing rifle,,,
Mine, set-up with Tech Sights is a great Appleseed Rifle.

But it's just too long a stock for my friends daughter,,,
She and her two younger brothers,,,
Are tiny little kids.

Thanks for the suggestion,,,

Thanks for all your suggestions my friends,,,
It looks like the best way for me to go right now,,,
Is to let her keep shooting the little Crickett single-shot.

Next year I'll advance her to the NEOS Carbine,,,
That's if I haven't found something else for her by then.

I learned to shoot on a charter arms ar-7 that my dad gave me and still own today. It is accurate after I few well needed cleanings since he wasn’t a stickler for firearm maintenance. It even gets new shooters familiar with peep sights if they decide to serve in our armed forces giving them an advantage on those nasty black rifles in use today. Good luck in your ventures and kudos for getting the kiddos interested in the fun of firearm safety and handling.

I also have a GSG-16 that easily adjusts for LOP with collapsible stock, but I wouldn't recommend unless you want to train them in clearing jams and stovepipes. :scream:
