Ah man, my great grandparents (yes, I was alive when they were!) used to raise ostriches here in OK, just outside of Ft. Cobb. That would some good eatin, for sure! Whoever answers this post, many thanks!

That being said, as far as I know, the market has been pretty dry. I remember rumors of stores were supposedly to pick it up, and it just never happened. Kinda like bison and Wal-Mart, some have it, but not very many I think.

I got hooked on it when I was younger as my uncle raised them out in Freedom, OK. I have been craving it - really good flavor - super lean but I don't want to order it and hope for the best. So if I can find it locally great.

Yeah, I know my granny served it and didn't tell us what it was. My whole family all concluded it was the most tender meat while still being very lean, we thought it was some great cut of steak. When she told us it was one of their ostriches that died, we couldn't believe it! It was really, really good. Even got some eggs!
