So far I have shot 40gr. V-Max up to the 75gr. A-Max from my Savage and it has the 1-9 twist, pushed the 40's pretty hard and no blow up. My AR that I had had a 1-8 twist and lets just say the same load would flat out spin apart in the AR but worked fine in the Savage. My 243 has a 1-8 twist and you can spin the 100gr. hunting bullets apart if you want too 
Fella's don't forget the 5.56 and the 223 have different presure ratings! not to mention that .010 difference in length. Don't have the data in front of me and diners ready but I want to say the 223 is 55,000 and the 5.56 is 60,000. Gotta go eat! Later,
