I've been fingerprinted four times now (between Logan County equipment failures and OSBI disapprovals). Logan Co told me to expect another disapproval by OSBI. What a frustrating process.

After the second rejection, you are eligible to go to the OSBI office in OKC and they will get a good set of prints, since they are the ones who reject them. Don't mess with any other SO's, just go to the OSBI.

I submitted my paperwork to TCSO on 11/13 so I have only been waiting a week...although it feels like foreever already...

OSBI has not run my card yet...I'm hoping to see that processed before the holiday, but not really expecting it until the week after.

OSBI ran my payment this morning...a few questions:

1. Does the clock start on the day you submit the application to the Sheriff's office or the day the OSBI gets the app?

2. Is it 60-90 calendar days or business days?

I am certainly very early in the process, so I know I still have some time to wait...

OSBI got my application about July 22nd, sent it back to me early August because of some information i didnt fill out correctly. Then they put me in the research pile, I got my own background from Chicago and sent it in. I am now (as of 11/16/12) legaly able to carry!!!!

The clock starts when OSBI gets the packet from the Sheriff's office. The Sheriff is supposed to get the packet to them within 14 days.

The statute simply says "60 days" and "90 days" it does not specify business days.

Those are OSBI days. They were taking well over 100 days earlier in the year, due to the backlog of applications. They are more current now and it appears that folks are getting their cards mailed to them, the new way, in 45 to 60 calendar days. That is much the schedule of a year or two back.

If they take longer, what are we going to do about it anyway. Cancel our application. That would sure show them.

The OSBI clock starts ticking when they receive a complete application, which included good fingerprints and photos, as well as the checks the local sheriff performs.

My wife and I submitted our applications (and stuff) to the Oklahoma County Sheriif's sub-station at Quail Springs Mall on October 31. After reading some of the posts here, I went online to check my credit card and found that OSBI charged our card on for both applications on 11/21/2012. So what does this mean? Should we be getting something in the mail soon, or is this the beginning of a train wreck?

If the card was charged on 11/21, you are still at the beginning of the process. I would estimate you will get your permits sometime in the first half of January. Looks like permits have been running in the 45-60 day window.
