I got a call from the Sheriff's department today at 3:21pm and had my permit at 3:45pm. I didn't get a letter so I am thrilled that they called. It took 66 days from the time I turned in my application. God bless the United States of America!!!

I got mine today, never got a letter, so emailed osbi and they said the app was processed and should get a letter in two weeks, so i called the sheriffs office this mornin and it was there(still no letter) so i picked it up at lunch today, pretty stoked...

I renewed my license last fall....and it took nearly 3 months to receive! Government is so efficient! NOT!

OSBI charged my card today. Does the 90-day clock start now? How long has it taken for any of you once your card is charged?

I emailed the OSBI on the 60 and 90 day mark after my card was charged and the last email i sent got a reply of "your application has been processed. Expect a letter from us within two weeks of this message." give or take. then i called the Sheriffs office that day (was a tuesday) and was told to call back at the end of the week which i did on friday morning and it was there. the email address to send your progress request is in this thread somewhere...

I'm sure you could call every day after the 90 day mark, but I would email the OSBI first and if their response is your app has been processed, then call the sherriffs office within or after a week of the response, the lady behind the counter when i picked mine up told me most people were not getting the letters on time if at all so yes, be proactive about it after 90 days...

it is 60-90 days after the osbi gets it, ie-your card is charged, per the first osbi email response. it took a little over 90 days overall, but only 60 days from the date my card was charged. the sheriffs office is supposed to have it 14 days or less, after which they will send it to the osbi, but mine took longer, and i dont know if that is common or not...

yea my card was charged about 2 weeks after i turned mine in. still waiting. november 19 will be 90 days
