Farmerbyron, it wasn't easy. we almost got(really wanted) the ct200h.
With the possibility of layoff we wanted something that got good mpg incase i had to do some driving for work.
It is a temporary fix(wifes car was totalled) to an imediate problem. If I had a free $80k i would have loved to have another LS460 or one of the awd 300 series cars. A used Lexus is probably in my future for the wife.
In a couple years after the next couple rounds of layoffs we will reevaluate and get her a nicer car.
We looked at Volkswagon and Suburu and they never had anything on the lot to test drive that we were interested in.
As far as the reports, we've had 7 Hondas(1 Odyssey, 5 Accords, 1Civic) and i'd rank this Prius C above any of them at this time. We also looked at the Honda Fit and she didn't like it. We tried to buy a Ford but they felt like it was going to fall apart.
