They have their place. In town running around they do very well, on the highway I've seen Jetta diesels do better mileage wise.

Price of admission is a bit high and I don't really feel comfortable in one with my long legs.

This is why people hate Prius drivers. Yes, we are all jealous of your beige econobox. It shows that you don't care about things like style, speed, or comfort. It shows that you don't care about a car that says "look at me! look at me!", even though you will most definitely run around shouting, "look at me! I drive a Prius!". This is usually done while hypermiling in the fast lane. Pure jealousy.

I couldn't care less about the car itself, it's the drivers that give the car a bad name. I've seen Prius drivers (primarily) causing rolling traffic jams while hypermiling. You think you're saving the planet when all the other vehicles around you are hitting the brakes and then speeding off when they finally get around you? Feel free to get your 57 MPG, but please don't do it at the expense of everyone else you share the road with.

My wife drives her Prius the same as she did the ls430 and she's getting 57 mpg instaed of 19. She does'nt know what hypermiling is or that easing into the gas and getting out of it early will save you money. She drives it like she stole it so to speak. Other than the car being slower itself, she's still flooring it everywhere she goes and getting almost 3X the gas mileage.

That's odd, we're getting 23Mpg in our LS430. You can also have sex in the back seat of an LS430. That's a sure fire way to end up in the hospital if you attempt that in a Prius.
