The bill seems pretty weak to me. ATF would still have statutory wiggle room, which they've already proven they will exploit. (They can say M855 is currently subject to restriction).

IMHO, we don't need more poorly written laws. We need them to fix the GCA and LEOSA.

This bill needs an amendment that would define centerfire rifle ammunition as a cartridge using a rifle primer and handgun ammunition as ammunition that uses a pistol primer regardless of what firearm it is fired from. There also needs to be an amendment removing the 5.45 x 39 from the banned list.

True, but we'd never get Obama to sign a repeal of LEOSA or the GCA. We can, however amend one or both of those with language that keeps the ATF from making arbitrary decisions based on poor language in the the original legislation.
