As long as there are people, someone will always try to take something with out working for it. As long as there are people, someone will try to prevent a person from taking something they have not worked for. Greed is a human problem as are many other vices. The interesting thing is as long as there are people, someone will want to tell everybody what did, or did not happen, and what that means about us. Mostly those who tell, want to decide what is best for everybody. Sometimes they even get people to listen to them. The only way out is what OKN03Cobra suggests.The TV news makes me glad I'm deaf. News this morning says there was a murder here, a murder there and a double murder over THERE ... WTF?!?!?
It's not like it's nice outside ... Not to mention the fact that you gotta wonder about the whole thought process behind the "hmmm, I'm pissed off, I think I'll just go kill somebody" mentality ...
Ever since the Thunder came to OKC, the crime rate went up...that is just the way it is since we are a "big league" NBA town now...the parasites follow the host.

I think part of the problem is that you can have a bus crash, a shooting or a child get hurt, half way around the world and you see it on your screen 30 minutes later. Tonight at 6 is the shooting in South Africa, the detective in charge of the investigation being charged with (murder?), the bombs in the capital of Syria (3) with about 100 people dead and to top it all off Obama has diarrhea of the mouth.

From 2008 -2011 overall crime rose drastically in 2009 and has been slowly declining since. Still about 2000 more reported offenses a year than before they arrived. You are correct

I have read a lot of the old newspapers from Marshall County, due to my interest in researching my family tree. Marshall County is the smallest county in Oklahoma, and you would not believe the number of murders over the years. As a matter of fact, my own great-great grandad, was murdered on his front porch, by a man that had just killed another man, attempted to kill some others and eventually held a gun on a Dr. to obtain poison to commit suicide, and this was in 1911. And all over the results from a school board decision.
