Bored men, especially bored young men, can be a dangerous thing. If men don't work hard and collapse exhausted in bed at night, they tend to use their energy and drive in alternative ways. Historically, the majority of American men had to do hard, physical labor just to feed themselves and their families. Now, they have better options.

From 2008 -2011 overall crime rose drastically in 2009 and has been slowly declining since. Still about 2000 more reported offenses a year than before they arrived. You are correct

For the whole state. Violent crime spiked in 2008 and has been on the decline since. Murder has been largely flat. The data for Oklahoma City PD is from 2009-2011 and shows a decline for Oklahoma City.

Not that I disagree with this as a description our current situation, but when in history is this not the case?
