Things fall thru the cracks some times. Court records departments are busy places looks like.

I had gotten a ticket in Wagoner County on the Muskogee turnpike in 1990 by the OHP when I was in Okiehoma visiting from California. I paid the ticket because I remembered I did and I also remember my insurance going up and my boss in Cali being upset because it was on my MVR and I was on the company insurance as I did alot of driving around San Francisco in company vehicles while working- a funeral home/death scene cleanup company, etc. We had to maintain clean driving records.
But many years later when checking my record myself online in 03' after I had moved to Oklahoma I noticed in Wagoner County records that they had my ticket listed as not paid. But no warrant went out,no letter, nothing. I live in Wagoner County so I went over to get it straightened out cause you just never know when its going to be a problem. And it was quite an ordeal getting it all figured out. They had no record of it being paid,I had no proof I had paid it as it was 13 years prior, but no warrant had been issued,my license was never suspended, nada. Peace of mind though when it all got worked out.

I had almost the EXACT same experience with the same place! Ticket in 2000 though. Some records show I even have a warrant!!! Call them and I don't? No idea. I was in the military then and paid it through the liaison. As many of you know you don't get away with 12 years of service with unpaid tickets, and warrants out. To this day I can look it up and there it is! Yet, they won't tell me it's there. Sounds like a bunch of B.S. to me!!!

Well I got it all taken care off. Drove down to Davis to let my sister know what was going on and talked to my dad's lawyer about it. He called the DA up and in less than 10 minutes they dismissed the charges since I was 17 at the time. Now I'm waiting a couple days for him to mail me the dismissal so I can have peace of mind. The upside to the day was I finally had time to visit my families since I was in the area (haven't seen them in 2 months). My sister thought it was pretty funny when I was leaving her place because a friend of hers came to visit. Did I mention he's a police officer? Kinda scary when you're freaking out over a warrant and as soon as you start to leave a cop parks right next to you. I'm just glad it's all over with.

And for all those who might or might not have anything against them in the system, check out www.odcr.com I'm keeping an eye on it for awhile just to make sure things get sorted out. Thanks for all the advice, even the goofy ones. And for the guy who said I should get the chair, I think I'll yell Boomer Sooner like that one guy did (can't remember his name).

depending on which county you're in, oscn is also a way to search court records. link

it's academic now, but had the OP went to the sheriff's dept or DA's office, he likely would have been arrested. having his sister there would have only helped at the DA's - the sheriff's dept would simply be executing a warrant and wouldn't care. if you go down to the sheriff's dept in b/c of a warrant, you should have an attorney's number in your pocket as well as a bail bondsmen.
