What about when a majority of voters elect ant-gun politicians that pass laws that infringe on the 2a?
Do we go with the voters or the constitution?

I'm a believer in the constitution personally. After all, we where originally a Constitional Republic. However, we have moved slowly to a "democracy" we're every vote is supposed to count.

Then we agree the repeal of DOMA was a good thing, since it leaves marriage up to the states

I'm curious ... while I'm sure you believe this statement based on the number of times I've seen you post it, aren't you being somewhat disingenuous by suggesting by inference that it will continue to be up to the states for any significant length of time?

Actually, yes! It's hard to raise kids without outside influences affecting that process. Try explaining to a child about why it's not okay with God to be intimate with the same sex while there are 2 guys making out in the isle at Wal-Mart! Kinda hard to do when the minority is okay with it though it is law.

You explain it the same way you'd explain that just because you saw a 15 year girl dressed like a prostitute in walmart you won't allow your own children to dress that way. Or just because you saw a guy with a bunch of tattoos and piercings that you won't allow your children to alter their bodies in that way. Or just because you encountered some kids dropping F bombs all over the place that you won't allow your children to talk that way. It's not that hard.

Agree...point was that it adds more to the table. There are enough "non-Christian" issues out there to address. IMHO, why continually add more?

DOMA wasn't struck down, only one section was. On the one hand I disagree with the ruling because the section struck down actually removes the federal government's ability to decide who gets federal benefits and leaves that up to the states. At this point if one state legalizes polygamy and another legalizes marrying animals then the federal government is going to have to honor both.

On the other hand, if this were to wake up Washington to the fact they are no longer in control of their own money and they were to find a better way to distribute those benefits that is fair and doesn't involve state laws (or sex or religion or anything else controversial), then I think it will be a good thing. But I just don't see many DC politicians being that smart.

It's entirely possible that it'll get reabsorbed into the federal government, if we allow it. Do you disagree that moving it to the states is a good thing, as far as I'm concerned any step towards limiting the power of the federal government is a positive one.

Not to be an English stickler but I think you meant "implication"

Not a problem! Here is our plan.
There are dozens of uninhabited islands in the Carib.
Go squat on one, and create a dictatorship.
put out news reports of atrocities on the webz and have a couple become boat people evacuees.
Declare war on the US, and when the invasion comes, surrender.
It won't be long before the US will begin putting in infrastructure, provide funding for a marina and a casino!
Problem solved, and by the way, your welcome! :)

This sounds a lot like something from "The mouse that Roared" http://youtu.be/p7L7WLFBYR4

So you want to deny a small percentage of the population equality because it makes your job as a father a little more difficult?

It is impossible to raise kids without outside influences affecting the process unless you raise them in a bubble.

Try explaining why oral/anal sex is frowned upon.
