My son got drawn twice for the Alfalfa County youth hunt. Landowners were really nice, and ODWC people were too. Had wild-game chili for everyone both years, pretty nice after sitting in a blind in the cold. Very gracious folks.

Wow, I am impressed that the ODWC advertised like they did this year. Generally this is a high draw odds hunt for kids. That will probably chane this year. I do know that in years past, there have been times that all hunt spots were not filled because of a lack of entries.
The Ellis County hunt is a pretty neat hunt. It takes place on roughly 5000 acres of private land. Last season saw a lower harvest rate, due mostly in part to the drought and the impact it has had on the deer herd out this way.

I'm sure the odds of being drawn has gone up this year. Anyone know how we will be notified and when if our kids get lucky enough to be drawn?

When will they draw and send out the notifications.
I didn't see the publication/article in the paper this year so I am not certain when it is. It is noted in the releases when the draw will be. It is always done with plenty of time to make arrangements for the hunt though.
Around 2nd week of Sept, if I recall...
