One of my bosses just asked me to procure 200 "No Guns Allowed" signs for our stores.

Boycotting will do nothing (except for you personally). Mainly because the business doesn't know they are being boycotted

I don't do it for others... I do it for myself & my family. Not walking into a store and supporting them when they blatantly refuse to support my constitutional rights and want me to disarm myself so the other customers feel "safe". Please.

Am I forcing them to work there? Why would I endanger myself or my family by walking into a "GUN-FREE" business? Easy target for criminals, and I personally will not support them. Sorry, just how it is for me & mine.

Really??? Would you suggest that all these folks quit their jobs because of a silly sign?? In this job market?? I see you have definitely thought this one out.Hey,boycott away, fortunately I think most people won't.

Nope, I wouldn't suggest it to anybody. But *I* am not punishing anybody. I am simply choosing to spend my money elsewhere.

If I walk into a store & the owner treats me like an a**hole, am I going to spend my money there? No. Would that be considered punishing the employees too? I'm willing to bet if you were treated like an a**hole you'd take your money elsewhere too, would you not?

When I see gun-buster signs, I am offended and choose to take my $$ where it's more appreciated. Simple as that.

There is verdage in SB129 that would hold these store owners responsible for your safety and wellfair while inside their store should they not allow guns in there establishment. Hopefully that verbage will remain.

Ummm... No there isn't...

As for the sign verbiage, Legacy Bank in Elk City has their dark gold lettered sign behind dark tinted glass that says something about firearms not being allowed on the premises under 1290.25. The statute referenced is the "Business Owner's Rights" provision.

I never noticed it the first 4 or 5 times I went in there...

I will, however, ignore their silly signs "suggesting" I disarm myself before entering their establishment. If I'm careless enough to get caught, they can ask me to leave and I will and will probably not come back.In 22 years of carrying, that has not happened.Gun buster signs in a non-SDA prohibited area = a lot of nothing. It's like not wearing a shirt or shoes.LOL

I do agree w/ the above though. If I have no "choice" (read: wife) but to go in, I'm certainly not disarming myself.

Believe I read on this forum somewhere that Woodland Hills in Tulsa was posted... but I've never seen one? Maybe it's Promenade I'm thinking of..

WOW,if you're that easily offended, how have you lasted almost a year here? When I see those signs it makes me giggle.

maybe its another bill im thinking about but, Ummm, yes there is.
Unless its dead.
You really wear me thin.

Not in the Engrossed version of SB129 or the House committee substitute.

One of the proposed floor amendments to HB1796 may have had that language, but I don't feel like going through them all again since its dead.

We'll see if there are other committee amendments or substitutes submitted. They were due at <i think> 10AM this morning (24 hours prior to consideration). The House website team has been good at posting stuff pretty quickly after its filed or a vote taken this year, so we'll see if someone submits one that has that sort of language.
