Got mine in 1981 for $125.00. Figure it was paid for by 1984. Been all good since then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Missed the $125, and gave $325 for mine a few years later. That was a 2 week paycheck back in the day, but it has payed off 10 fold.

I got mine as a graduation gift from my parents and Grandpa in 2003 for $550. The day before the price went to $775. It diet take long between fishing and hunting for to pay itself off!

Without a doubt, if you have a lifetime license, it has paid for itself several times over. I do not have one yet, my tags over the last few years have cost me as follows:

$85.00 5 year hunting license
$20.00 deer archery tag
$40.00 Buck & Doe tag muzzleloader
$40.00 Buck & Doe tag Rifle
$20.00 Holiday Doe Season
$10.00 Turkey Tag

$215.00 Total, so $130.00 per year for tags for the five years that I have the 5 year hunting license

85.00 for 5 year license
$650.00 for 5 years of tags
$735.00 total for five years of hunting, and that does not of course, include the cost for a fishing license. So clearly I am an idiot for not having bought the Lifetime license yet. I plan on doing so before next year even though I have two years left on the 5 year hunting license I bought.

This reminds me of the exact moment that I realized I was old. It's when I looked the price of lifetime combo license and realized that it may not be so cost-effective anymore.

Hiding from all you crazy people!!!

BS, its still way cost effective!

In one year I could spend....
Hunt/fish lic- $50
6 deer tags- $120
2 turkey tags- $40
Antelope tag- $50 (you can buy two so possibly $100)
That's $260 in one year
$775 devided by $260 = 2.98 years to be paid for
That's not including the second antelope tag or an elk tag. Not to mention tag costs of the draw in hunts if you get one.

Sounds pretty cost effective to me?
