We often have High points offered to us for free. Moms find them in kids room, divorced women bring them in etc. Our response is always the same we will take it apart and you can place the frame in the dumpster by our back door and the slide in the dumpster by the chinese resturant.

Your point has not been made yet. Keep defending one of the worst guns on the market. It's making you look real smart. This has nothing to do with money, it is about the quality and reliability of a firearm. If they are so good and cheap, why doesn't law enforcement carry them?
have you seen the ultimate hi point test? go watch all 4 videos. then come back. in YOUR opinion one of the worst guns on the market.

did i say they were super guns? no. leos carry glocks. well tpd does. i would imagine that carrying around a hi point all day wouldnt be fun. since they dont make a compact model in a 40. i wouldnt carry a hi point around. its too big. i wouldnt carry a full frame gun around period. open or not. i would however own a hi point for the house or to go plinking around with. the op didnt mention ccw. just home defense.
dont watch the videos. i could care less. yes 4 videos of one person trying to blow up a hi point by sticking **** in the barrel like hammering a bolt down the barrel. doesnt happen until the end when they clamp the front and the back shut. just saying. the videos say alot. there are tons of videos about hi points. you cant call them unreliable when you dont really know. you just sound like a gun snob. go shoot one. dont let your friends see you. they may make fun of you.

You still make no sense. Sticking things in the barrel of a gun? Sounds real smart. Still don't care. Call me a snob because I don't agree with buying crap and wasting my money. Btw cops don't carry compacts, they carry full size weapons. They don't carry HP's because they are junk, not because of size. I would not advertise you keep one for home defense, could make you an easy target for criminals.

try it with a glock or any other gun. oh and sorry for not knowing what they use. just because it cost more money doesnt make it any better. just because the military or law enforcement uses it doesnt make it better. just saying. i bet you have NEVER shot one before. its all hear say with you. go shoot one. go beat the piss out of one. it will still fire.

I watched one...and saw the hi-point malfunction on the second shot fired in the video. I've fired one, and it couldn't make it through a single mag without choking.

Did you see the stellar hi-point performace in the IDPA challenge video? Which test closer represents use in a self-defense scenario...two guys shooting at cow patties or a guy running one in an IDPA match?

Us 'gun snobs' aren't snobs because of price...we're snobs because of price vs. reliability. The curve reaches a point where the low cost is negated by inherent unreliability. No amount of keyboard mashing will convince me that a hi-point is more reliable than my Glocks or CZs....none of which broke the bank or could ever be considered high falutin' race guns.

It's all a matter of personal choice, opinion, and some actual reality. When you ask for advice...your going to get some of all three. Offer up contrary advice all you want...
