Caught this little velvet tail in my fishin hole last night. I had just made a remark to my ol lady about the number of snakes I've see on the roads at the ranch this week. Killed a two cotton mouths earlier, and saw a couple of big bull snakes laying across the road, but let them go on about their business. Appears to have shed recently, skin was really bright, so I went ahead and skinned him. He had been dead an hour or so when I was skinning him, and missing his head, but still twitching. I don't care how big a boy you are, when you go to skinning a rattlesnake and it starts moving around, head or no head, it'll make you flinch.
