When TSA is controlled at the state level (department of DPS) and they undergo the same background checks and training, then I would agree. Major airports (if not all) already have airport Police, no need for armed TSA unless ALL citizens may be legally licensed and armed at all times. JMHO

This pisses me off. Why TSA agents and not teachers?

I echo this sentiment. 1 dead TSA agent and they are ready to arm. Dozens of teachers and students dead, but they insist schools stay soft targets.

The last I heard, the TSA union just wants armed officers of any kind at the checkpoints. Apparently some airports have pulled the police presence at checkpoints.

ABSOLUTELY NOT! We have too many federal agents with guns as it is. They need to turn the whole TSA function back over to private business. Bring back Pinkertons or Wackenhut security guards. Too many subpar employees at TSA for them to be armed. What a freaking nightmare!!

Replace them with what? Pinkertons and Wackenhut are both subpar security. Oklahoma may require security guards to have CLEET security licenses, but all that is required is MINIMUM training standards to get a certification.
