I agree with their philosophy
. Better to be prepared to survive in place. Greenhouses that don't require electric to stay warm in the winter, fresh water storage and collection, etc.

Fact of the matter is NONE of us will be sitting around in lawn chairs, sipping lemonade, talking tough on our computers about how good we have it and how rough every one else does. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US, country folk and city folk alike will suffer in ways this country has never seen the likes of if anything even remotely like what some of you guys rub yourselves and contemplate ever comes to pass ...
One more thing for all you Vietnam-era guys who think you are all that and a bag of chips. You guys lived through a terrible, terrible time. You guys saw things that no one should ever have to see and lived through things that no one should ever have to live through. Think you are the only ones? Yeah, right ... There are plenty of brand-spanking new war vets that are home now who have a lot less mileage on them and families to care for, just like you have. And some of those guys have a plan -- that plan? Yeah ... to take from those of us who've put back. And they have the training, equipment, friends (i.e., manpower) and YOUTH to do it. So don't kid yourselves, guys ... Ain't none of us untouchable ...

I'll do what I can, for as long as I can, with as many neighbors as I can, but I'm NOT mounting an armed insurrection, I'm not gonna be the next Jeremiah Johnson and I'm probably not even gonna get to die quietly in my sleep at 101 if things go sideways ... That's gonna be true for probably 99% of us, regardless of our age or where we live ... Just the way it is ... To think anything else is just plain stupid ...
