Where do people who eat malt vinegar on fries get their tastes?

My oldest daughter lived in Cambridge, every time Ive been to London/England or even Canada for that matter Ive seen people dipping their fries (or chips) in malt vinegar and sometimes white vinegar from small packets like we do ketchup here. In Canada they also have some kind of brown gravy for them especially with the poutine, and in England Ive seen people dip fries in this really thin looking sour azzed tomato sauce that was nothing like our thick and sugary ketchup. My wife uses malt vinegar all over her fish and chips when we go to Charlie Mitchells or Fish Daddy, which I can kind of understand because I eat alot of hot sauce that has vinegar in it on most everything. My last ex is German and she always had to have a cup of mayo when she ate fries and she would make a meal out of just an order of fries whereas I eat them as a side order to something else.

I love malt vinegar on fries and fish from Long John Silver and especially in chili. Malt vinegar in chili is almost as good as a couple of teaspoons of dill juice from the pickle jar.

I understand that in its base form... we are all just eating potatoes. But dang, we should shun those people. That just isnt right.

I still say the only reason they eat potatoes is because their parents ate potatoes. I mean, if it weren't for potato eating, I'm pretty sure we would all be starved.

Back in the day, stationed in Scotland (Navy), the local fish and chips shops. Fish and chips bundled together, drizzled all over with salt and malt vinegar, and wrapped in several layers of newspaper to keep warm. Yum-Yum!
You don't get that at LJS, not even close.

Tartar sauce with fries is the bomb, but vinegar is great too.

I also like to put pepper and cream cheese on bagels...lots of pepper.

Anyone remember Aurthur Treacher's Fish and Chips? Got started eating malt vinegar on that kind of fish and fries when I was a wee lad.

Mayo on fries is disgusting.
