Get lindane or something like it. Try a farm store. I could believe that scabies could drive a person to suicide. It takes "itch" to a whole new level. Go to the doctor if you can't find lindane. It won't cure itself.
I think it’s off the market now but kwell cream cures it like a miracle. Scabies spreads like crazy. Soon after getting it you can’t take showers hot enough to numb the itch and it will drive you insane. It is from hell. Glad you got it cured.

Luckily in my 30+ years of law enforcement, I've never had scabies. But I did get a scorching case of head lice from a bad guy.

No, my naked guy was a prisoner in the county jail. He had been acting like a horse's ass and we were gonna move him to another cell. We told him to gather his things, and he declared that he ain't moving. We argued for a few, then I left to get some help, because I knew it was gonna go south real quick.
By the time I got back to his cell, he had shucked all his clothes, sh1t in his hands, and rubbed sh1t all over his body.
Well, we got the firehose and Green Miled his ass. We still had to tussle with him a little bit, but we got him moved.
