Odocoileus virginianus pic thread 2020/2021

I’ve measured and remeasured three time, and the smallest total I got is 192. I intend to get him “professionally” scored after the first of December, but until then, I’m calling him 192.

I’ve measured a bunch of typical bucks, but this was my first try at a nontypical. I ended up getting some bad info from a friend in TX who thinks he’s a B&C scorer. I flagged down Alfalfa county game warden Ben Bickerstaff this morning, and he graciously offered to measure my buck for me. He actually educated me on the process which was great.
I was way off in my measurements of the nontypical points. Ben clarified that his score is still unofficial, but it’s dang sure more official than what I did.
The nontypical gross score is 182 6/8 with a net of 175 1/8.

My guesstimation from the game cam pictures had been 172-178” gross, so I wasn’t too far off after all.

I’ll be the first to add a doe pic. AND encourage you boys to shoot those does! I’ve seen more pictures of spotted fawns this season than ever before which ain’t a good sign. You want to keep seeing those nice bucks we gotta get these does under control.

I completely understand it’s fun watching a dozen does running around in front of you all evening but for the health of our bucks please take an extra doe or two this year!

Great buck Bigwood. What broadhead did you use? Looks like a good hole in the pic.

I use the thorn broad heads but luckily it did work. That was 72yds with a crossbow. He was hurt but took a while to pass. Shot was not perfect but it got the job done.
