I haven’t gone back to look for it, but I think there was a discussion earlier about a deer with a hematoma or tumor on the brisket. I’ve been watching this buck, and his is growing pretty fast. I suspect it’s an infection from a locust thorn.

FB groups have been full of pics with deer having those in the last few weeks. I leave my cams out year around over the last three years I've seen two like that on cam, but only in the fall/winter. I shot a doe when I was a teen that had one about the size of a volleyball. It was full of liquid that looked like tea, and not pus like it was an abscess. Meat looked normal. Not really sure what it is.

That one looks about the same size that was on the doe I shot.

We had a doe like that last year. Saw her early this year once and that was it

I watched a buck on camera for at least a couple months here in TX about 15 years ago, and he just showed up one day with it gone/drained.

Yeah it's like they just blowout at some point. Just like I do after a 3 egg cheese and chorizo omelet and 5 cups of coffee lol.

Posted this in the past. It’s a bit grainy due to trying to expand the pic to enlarge it. Haven’t seen her this year but saw her in’21 & ‘22
