I just traded into my first 15-22. Ran 100 rounds thru it today and was really impressed. I must have lucked into a good one because the trigger is amazing. I had planned to swap in a Hiperfire 24 that's been collecting dust, but the stock trigger is just too good to mess with. Great little rifle.
It's a milspec stock trigger but I think the springs are a little lighter. The main problem is that the pins are not the right length so they are below either edge and can walk a little bit. Since they are not flush with the side of the receiver it's hard to notice and pretty soon you have an issue. The captive pins solve that as they are the correct length and have a allen head screw that threads into the end. But other than that mine has been great. Eats everything I feed it which is mostly bulk pack stuff but even some of the browning 22 in the cases. I had a 10/22 years ago and honestly I like the 15-22 better out of the box.
So this is an issue with the original 15-22 trigger, and not just a problem stemming from using an aftermarket trigger?
Yes, the anti walk pins are recommended and cheap insurance.. Did you look to see and find they are not flush, but recessed..
That's the way I feel about mine. It's great for what it is. The only reason for me to change would be for a little better accuracy --- maybe. However, if I 'needed' that, I think I'd just buy a Ruger Precision Rimfire.

They are recessed. I'll go ahead and replace the pins before there's a problem. Thanks for the heads up.
