I got my first bobcat in a trap today. Unfortunately the coyotes got to it before I did tonight, killed and mangled his back end pretty bad. Everything is reset and can't wait to get out there tomorrow and check the trap line.

Man, that sucks.

Cats are bringing good money.

Yup, Coons and cats are up because of the drought he told me. Bad trapping season. Supply and demand.

Haven't been predator hunting in YEARS. Literally first time in 10-12 yrs I have been out. Tools have changed drastically over the years, but I'm still using a mouth call. LOL Anyway first set this morning 15 minutes in, I call up this guy with my grandpas 40 year old Weems wild call. First bobcat I have ever called up. Dusted him at 115 yds with my 243

Next set we promptly missed a mange coyote at 40yds with the shotgun. Fun morning though.

I have an electronic call, but still use the mouth calls most of the time.
