What are all these tall things with leaves that y’all are hunting in? All I have around me are yuccas and prairie grass.
No different than hunting a green wheat field or an acorn tree dropping.I have avoided putting up a feeder the past 4 years and all of these pictures make me wonder if I should just accept that is how it is in Oklahoma and put one up.
This was an exciting morning for a couple reasons. First, I got to see one of my good bucks up close and personal (10 yards). I’ve been watching him on camera all summer, and it was cool to finally see him in person. I watched him for about 45 minutes before he moved on.
As I headed out, I had to cross the “dry” channel of the Salt Fork which has been running for about 3 weeks, but it’s been low enough to cross without getting water in the floorboard of my Ranger. Well, evidently, Kansas got rain this morning, because it was up about a foot since I crossed at 6 this morning. Let’s just say my floorboards are clean now…
Here’s my ground blind..
