Apparently I need to hunt closer to the road with all the dead deer y'all are seeing. I've seen some chasing, but not a ton. Took a doe tastes to replenish the freezer while waiting on the mature bucks to appear. Her tarsals weren't stained much.

Once again, hunted hard yesterday and all I got was a deer blowing behind me. Hunting a new spot that I'm convinced just doesn't have the deer density that I would like. Camera seems to confirm my theory. About a dozen hunts this year with not a single deer in bow range. I did miss that nice buck during black powder, and that's been my only opportunity.

Just got an alert on my cell camera that some cows have found and destroyed the feeder I just filled up Saturday. No cows on the property, obviously one of the neighbors just not sure who. Have never had cows on the property. Just hoping they don’t find my other feeder which doesn’t have a cell camera on it.

Drove to Tryon and back yesterday and to Tulsa today and back and there's a lot of road kill right now. Saw buck crossing the highway on both trips. One really good one with his nose down.
We drove 412 to Tulsa today. One doe and 4 dead bucks on the shoulder.

A couple weeks ago, I put up a tower stand with a canvas cover. I staked it down with T-posts but after 10 1/2” of rain, when the wind blew, it went over. Fortunately nothing was bent or broken and I was able to stand it back up yesterday. Over lunch today, I walked the 1/2 mile back to it to tie a pee jug in it. I had just got to the top of the ladder when a big doe comes running out and stops 20 yds in front of me. A few seconds later, this buck comes out after her. You would know, all I had on me was a 357. 🤬. Fortunately he never saw me. They made a circle and back into the woods they went.
