That’s the problem with my location is there’s only cow pastures and no farming for miles. I didn’t even see any birds around the feedlot.
We go with some church friends down to Wichita Falls most years. There’s usually 12-18 of us. Typically, about a 3rd to half get our limits
Opening day got 9 in the morning and 6 in the afternoon for a limit. Yesterday morning got 5 that I found. We had a great time as usual. A few Eurasian are back in the mix. They are making a comeback after that harsh winter storm 3 years ago.

We used to hunt a place by Amoritta, just a tiny pond in a pasture and those birds were always full of croton seeds.
Well we got an appetizer last night!
I love dove season
I had the best opening weekend I’ve ever had. First year at this spot, mostly native grass and trees with a few ponds. I limited before 930 opening morning and 10 on Labor Day. I’d still be happy with this year even if the rest of the season is a flop.
