So, I haven't been deer hunting in years, and had shoulder surgery year and a half ago. My shoulder can't take shooting my 30-30 very much, so I've been looking at getting into a .243 so maybe I can go out this year. I've heard they are like shooting a .223/5.56 in felt recoil which I can tolerate no problem. Is this true?
There's several options out there, and I'd like to hear and pros/cons of experiences you've had with different make/models.
I'm looking for something with a good - real good trigger, with around a 1/10 twist, or even into the 9's if I found a decent price on one, so I have the option of shooting heavier loads. Any recommendation?
I'll be going to the gun show this weekend, so is there any older .243s I should watch for, and if so, what would your opinion be of a "decent" price range for it?
Thanks for reading/your time!
