Was it the bullet or their twist rate? I know that bullets do funny things as they go trans-sonic, but most target ammo is subsonic (except long range rifle stuff) and it's usually pretty accurate.

I think it has to do with the long bullets. I haven't hear of anyone having exceptional accuracy out of .300blk sub sonic loads and the external ballistics are pretty terrible past 200 yards or so. Wind hates you and small deviations in velocity mean a lot more drop than similar deviations at 2800fps.
No but it can be done by the average joe from what I understand. The savages have user changeable barrels.Really nice rifle.
