.357 vs +P .38 in S&W 340PD for CCW

I favor the Speer Short Barrel Gold Dot in .357

It is actually a mid range .357 load that is quite a bit hotter than +P but a lot milder than full .357 powerhouse rounds.

This is the .38 +P version:
860fps


This is the .357 SB version:
990fps


This is the full power .357 version:
1450fps

did you use the stock bantam grips shooting .357?

shot mine with crimson trace, which adds a cushion where it counts.
no way I'd shoot .357 with 340PD's stock grips... that strip of exposed aluminum would wack hard.

I wanted badly to have a 340PD when I just had a lowly 642. Then i got a 340CT and shot 5 rounds of .357 through it.

The moral of this story is that I know have a box of 45rds of .357 that I'll probably never shoot. It sucked like nothing has ever sucked before. That thing shot spit and fire and ass every which direction and that tiny grip that feels awesome even with +P turns into almost a knife blade in the palm of your hand.

No way could I maintain that through 5 accurate shots quickly.
