I've seen footage of a considerable amount of new highway construction, and roundabouts are seriously in favor for intersections that lead onto/off of highways. Indiana seems to be very partial to elongated roundabouts that go under highways--they look kind of like giant dog bones.

I've driven this one before, while going to see my daughter and her family. After an initial "WTF" moment, I have to agree that it works.
Me too. The initial WTF is over after going through it and surviving. Now that I know what it is and how to navigate it I'll probably like it more and more. The only thing I see about it is you have to know exactly where you are headed in order to get in that lane. You cannot change your mind in the interchange in heavy traffic.

Now there's a junction that needs help. That interchange was a hazard in 1985, and hasn't gotten better with time.

I feel sorry for those that drive I-40 (Tinker traffic). Soon we will be submitting a tied project on I-40 to widening both east/west bound lanes and replacing Crutchoak, 15th, and Sooner Rd Bridges. In the sequencing there will be two lanes open in both directions during construction. We are also rebuilding Sooner Road under the I-40 bridge. We are not touching the frontage roads so the button hook ramps will remain (although reconstructed).

Hmmm, I didn't scope any of that?
