Old as in age doesn't necessarily equate to maturity. Hell, I know I'm a smart-ass. Couldn't resist the opportunity, but it is a cool story, for real. I think a lot of LEOs are like that, as long as you're not some dirt-bag looking guy flaunting his cheap gat and nylon rig.

Well, to be honest the only holster I could find for my Ruger Redhawk .44 mag that I'm taking to Alaska as a sidearm in the wild was made by Uncle Mikes.
The only place I could find one that was belt mounted and would handle a 7 1/2" barrel without going full custom, and I won't wear a cross rig.
I've looked at shortening the barrel to a 5 1/2" because several companies make leather holster for them in that length. Galco for one.

Just make sure you wear your OSA hat and the LEOs will give you a "pass" and no knockin' on the noggin.
