Just sitting on the ramp at OKC waiting to head to Sacremento. Been sitting for 35 minutes with engines running while they check on a tail cone baggage light. The pilots have advised that they are aware it is an erroneous indication, but yet we are still sitting. Now listen, this is what I do for a living so I'm not getting into the legality of departing with said light, but I think we all know what's going on here. Just my little rant.

That is exactly what they are doing. They are following the BS FAA guidelines that they normally don't follow. We all know the plane is safe to fly in that condition, but the FAA says if they find a problem it has to be resolved. Do not fly American right now, you will be delayed, cancelled, overbooked.

KOPBET, disrupting the profitability of a company who has went into bankruptcy to kill your contract. Yes the customers are the ones who are punished, but isn't that usually the case in any industry? The pilots are doing what they are federally required to do. If they find a problem with the plane they are required to report it, maintenance is required to fix it before it can fly. The maintenance workers to do the same thing during a labor dispute. If the book says it takes an hour to change a lightbulb, but you can do it in 15 mins, during a labor dispute it will take an hour.

So your (the pilot's) company that you make your livelyhood from is on the ropes, and you do your best to disrupt profitability and customer experience. Good job guys. Karma sucks.

Keep in mind that the A$$clowns that run AA are running it into the ground and blaming everything from the Unions, to the Flight-attendants, to the pilots. All while refusing to release the (literally) billions of dollars a year they squander and at the same time watching the company go down in flames.

The stockholders don't seem to care since most are only in it for the short-term gain, and the whole time the underlings have to pick up the pieces in order to keep the company going with less people, time, resources, and money. If it ain't broke, nobody's going to recognize that there's a problem.

It doesn't bother them. Their severance packages are golden no matter what happens to their company.

The pilots have been doing more than that, including flight delays for other purposes, calling in sick, etc. And I'd bet that light bulb was out before they pushed away from the gate.

I'm not sure, but it sounds a bit like you're trying to say the only ones who care are the union employees?

I would bet the shareholders care a great deal. Since it is their company to begin with.
