If I boycotted every single place I've gotten bad service lately, I'd not be able to go anywhere ... It is an unfortunate turn of events, but bad service seems to be the norm in the world now ...

I think this falls under the "are we there yet" syndrome. Remember when your kids always asked "are we there yet" over and over until you were ready to leave them on the side of the road. This is what those gun counter guys are doing every day. "Do you have any. 45" "do you have any. 223" "do you have any .22" "do you have any ar's" "do you have any ar's" "do you have any ar's" over and over and over. You would get a little irritated too.
ABSOLUTELY, boycott Academy, if you need knowledgable, helpful employees go to Wally-World. (sarcasm intended)
I have found some deals at Academy and Bass Pro, but seldom. If I'm looking for QUALITY and SELECTION, I know they have it and I will pay for it. I shop local and Mom/Pop stores (Murf's in Duncan is AWESOME) most of the time. AND YES, I do order online at time, because I live 30 miles from town and the front door delivery is sooooooooooooo convenient.
Any store will have bad, non-caring, uniformed employees ........... the don't last in their jobs. Which do I boycott, those who support politcians and polital ideologies opposed to mine. ie. McDonalds, Dominoes, Home Depot, Pizza Hut, GE, LG, Chrysler, Cummins, any retail establishment with a no concealed carry allowed. READ the notice on the front door at Academy. I was in Academy, looking at the empty ammo aisle and asked the man behind the gun if they stocked ammo anymore. He smiled and said, "No, we don't .................... we just drag the pallets off the truck and set them in the center aisle and pick up the empty pallets a couple hours later."
Some claim there is no cure for stupidity ..................... the 'illness' (sic) is caused from low lead levels, therefore, stupidity CAN be cured with an injection of lead. I recommend .45 cal, 230gr, right between the eyes. The problem is liberals are much more in favor of the disease than they are the cure.

I personally don't need friendly, happy-go-lucky staff everywhere I go. Especially at a place where about all I ever do is pick up a few boxes of shells and some hoppes 9.
Its a big box store, they make things cheaper for you by running plain-jane efficiency business models, and passing on bulk pricing.
Get your personal customer support from one of the several fine local establishments.

+1... when I go looking, I know what I'm after. I know a good price. I know specs better than the salesman... The last thing I want is some helpful jackass to spout misinformation about a product, not intentionally of course... I always forgive, for they know not what they do. Favorite moment was a douche at H&H telling me "recovers are great because you never have to clean them."
Let's boycott them together... All of us (seriously, nobody go to Academy for guns or ammo for a few days - I'll be right there with you... after... I take care of... something...).
You've convinced me, lets all punish the heartless corporation. Please, do not be a patron to the guns and ammo dept for at least a few days, that way they can rest...I mean suffer.
I might have to go there during our boycott, but only cause they have a good price on those folding camping chairs...I'll be no where near the ammo.
