I've had false alarms due to bad motion detectors in an older system. New detectors cured that problem. Lots of other good thoughts in this thread.
Maybe someone was watching for response time. Set the alarm off and see how long it takes for you and/or the LEOs to show up. Now they know how much time they have to get in and get out. Hopefully it is not this scenario.
