We have seen it years ago. It is something to watch in person! It has grown every year they have done it.

Another one to go see is where they line up all the winter salt cars/trucks, start them up and full throttle till the last one is still running!

Your "car" can not be worth more than $1k INCLUDING REPAIRS. 2 person team per car. Race (like Cannonball Run) is Lampasas, TX to Grand Canyon and back. Tasks are assigned, to be completed en route.

Some areas of Ok have been doing that on a smaller scale years ago.
There was a little organization called the Arkansas river valley transit authority that put a few cars over a cliff on the upper end of Kaw lake one time a long time ago. I'm sure more than one or two of our members on here may have been a part of that group.
I wasn't a member, but a one time guest when a car was launched over a cliff at the lake. After it sunk, you could still see the 4 way flashers working for a bit until the water got to them.
Years later using the electronics on my bass boat, I located that wreck, and actually posted a pic of it here on OSA.
I'm telling you, there were some crazy mofo's in that group. The stories are endless.
