Mrs. Plissken and I haven't seen a refund in years. The amount they take from us should be criminal. A sure way towards tax reform is to do away with withholdings and send the taxman around every quarter (or annually) to pick up a check. There would be a revolt. Then maybe we'll see a Fair Tax.
Wife wants new wood floors, I want a new pistol, but she had some medical stuff that it will probably go towards.
Also, I am in the boat that loans the money to the .gov interest free for 12 months just because I like getting a lump sum back that I feel can be spent on non necessities. If it was in an account each month it would gain next to no interest in that 12 months and may get spent little by little on things we won't enjoy long term.

No kidding. I had to switch accountants in 2011 because I was tired of handing over 40% of what I earn to the IRS.
My taxes most likely will be funky this time around. Sold my rental property. I'd like to put new windows in my house if it works out where I can.
