" It has a 12 volt, 55 lbs thrust trolling motor, but plan to run 2 batteries in series"

For a 12 volt motor, two 12 volt batteries in SERIES produces 24 volts and will burn out the motor.
Two 12 volt batteries in PARALLEL will match the 12 volt motor, but produce twice the trolling hours as a single battery.

Even running the trolling motor all day, I've used a single large 12 volt battery for the trolling motor and recharged it at night.

I have had a boat most of my life. Sold my last one about 15 yrs ago. Have had a lot of fun since I was a kid with them. Stepdad had a cabin at Eufala. Lots of great memories....enjoy!!

Agree w/Rod on battery for trolling.

Yeah, I'm actually looking at golf cart 6v batteries. They have much better specs as compared to 12v batteries.

Those golf cart battery's weigh a ton compared to 12V.
60 lbs each 6v
69 lbs each 12v

To get similar specs with the 12v, you need 2 in parallel. However , You need 2 in series of the 6v anyway.
It stinks trying to post details from my phone:

I was using something very similar to this. I tried a scotch type pad on the angle grinder first and that just heated and smeared the glue everywhere. The wire worked much better but it left a thin layer of glue on the panels.
