Academy had said awhile back they were going to raise their prices (not exponentially) but enough that it would cut back on the profits of the secondhand market...now they are a giant corp who likes money so take their reasoning with a grain of salt
Not sure what's going on with Academy. Most everywhere else has shelves full of ammo (still overpriced). Academy on 240 sill has the same roll around cart with overpriced ammo that had all of last year.

That must be just that store (at least in my experience) the two stores I frequent (Yukon and NW Expressway) have had ammo out on the shelves and a decent amount of it for some time now

bullets for the 6.5 creedmoor came in today. Still searching for virgin brass on the net and reloading dies that aren’t stupidly priced.
I’m a patient man, so if they aren’t available it will be a safe queen until prices come back down.

I don’t know if this is small or large rifle primer but it’s in stock

Yeah, they've had lots of ammo on the shelves at the Enid Academy for quite some time now. Not everything, and not great prices, but they've had quite a bit.

Then both showed up (weeks after "delivered") called back being honest. Can't return ammo, just keep the replacement order.
Years ago, I ordered a bunch of ear tags from Jeffers (the blank ones used with a marker - I put 'em on calves with their momma's number), and they didn't show up for weeks. I called Jeffers and they sent another batch which arrived pretty quick. And of course the original batch showed up a few days later. :/

I called them and told the girl I needed to be billed for the second batch (boy, was she surprised!). When I got the bill, there was also a $10.00 gift certificate in the envelope.

If nothing else, being honest lets ya sleep at night. :thumb:

Besides the obvious changes I also added a Sharps Rifle Company DLC coated Extreme Performance Bolt Carrier Assy.

This is the look I'm going for (Colt 653)

M16 Carbine (AKA: CAR-15)

In the early 1970s, Colt began development of an M16 carbine with a 14.5-inch (370 mm) long pencil barrel. The barrel length was compatible with the existing carbine-length gas system and allowed for the mounting of a standard M16 bayonet. Despite having a longer barrel, it's no longer than the Colt Commando, as the longer barrel did not require the long 4.5 inch moderator of the XM177 series, only the much shorter M16 birdcage-type flash hider. Colt labeled the M16 carbines the Model 651, 652, 653, or 654, depending on whether or not it had a fixed or retractable buttstock, or a forward assist. Only the Model 653 M16A1 carbine, with retractable buttstock and forward assist would be purchased in significant numbers by the U.S. military. The Malaysian Armed Forces and the Armed Forces of the Philippines, purchased Model 653s in small numbers for special operations forces or security forces.

That is, in my opinion, one of the finest configurations for an AR. Simple, lightweight and easy to use. Once you get those A1 sights dialed in your immune from the knob-twisters that like to fiddle-f*** around with everything. Only thing I'd change now would be the grip to an A1-style (or an MOE...even better) and a basic sling.
