This little guy ...

One flew down out of the mulberry tree and came right to me. Acted really, really happy to find a human. Now, $195.00, one crappy, Chinese made bird cage with horrible instructions, and lots of food and toys later "Henry" is happy as a bug in a run in our living room.

The guy we met in the "bird aisle" at PetsMart said he was worth $400-500. I dunno about that, but it is obvious that he was hand-fed and is socialized. I have no idea how to go about finding who he belongs to. I guess if they come knock on my door, I'll give him back but ... well ... he is awfully cute ... ;)

You can usually post an ad for free in the newspaper for situations like this. Couple years ago I found a really nice Sony camera while walking my dog. Contacted the two closest newspapers and they ran an ad for a week

Has he/she told you what its name is?

Nope. It's name is "Henry" ... He hasn't talked yet but had done a lot of chirping, some squawking and lots and lots of that "lovey-dovey" bird behavior ... You know ... ducking their head and tucking it into your cheek. "Kissing" ... that kind of stuff. He was awfully happy to find a human.

He drank a ton of water and ate like he hadn't seen food in a month of Sundays.

Curious, intelligent, will get into ANYTHING
Playful, need some toys... watch out for toxic metals which can sometimes be found on the wire that holds stuff together.
Recommend wing clip to keep them out of trouble (if you like, PM me or call me and I'll talk you through it).

They need a fresh, pesticide free diet formulated for psittacines (parrots).
Limit treats - green or yellow veggies or fruit
Good supply of fresh clean water
Housing should be as large as possible
need several perches at different heights
He may enjoy misting, or occassional give him a pan of water large enough for bathing
Avocados are toxic. Just say no to avocados for birds.
Keep an eye on the dogs and cats
Might appreciate a nesting box for hiding

He will probably live to be 15 or so.
