If the bird is very people friendly, but doesn't talk it is probably a young bird. You could also try contacting avian vets around the city. Southside clinic is the one I use. Dr Kimberly K. Weiss, DVM is a great avian vet.

If you have questions, just PM me.

Well, he's not a talker but he is really friendly.

BTW, I kept trying to figure out where I'd heard Dr. Weiss' name before. I may be mistaken but I think her husband is a member here. I also think she was shooting IPSC the same time I was. I'll give her a shout ...

We had an African Grey ............... birds are interesting, lots of fun, entertaining, LOUD, messy, intelligent, and need attention, but fairly easy to care for. I would reccommend a wing clip and a perch outside of the cage.

Well ... we are 50% ... has an outside perch ... Is singing away to the country music on the radio right now. Little bugger bit the **** outta me this morning. It would seem he already has some territorial tendencies when it comes to being inside that cage. Little ****ant ... :grumble:

That's okay ... I've called around to the vets in this area and left a message at Southside. We'll see what happens. Until then he and I are gonna do a little stepping up work and maybe get a towel out and see what happens. I'm not a big fan of clipping wings, unless I absolutely have to. Until the dogs get used to him he needs to be able to fly ... Although he's bit the **** outta their noses while they were sniffing around his cage this morning! Dogs just looked at me like "WTF?!?!" and then went and layed down like "ehhh ... this is gonna be too much trouble ... besides he's in a cage!" :rollingla Critters are so much fun!
