Don't carry your weapon. If SHTF so bad that you need a gun, either you will never get the opportunity to use it, or the officer will have an additional weapon for you to use.

A ride along seems like it would be kinda interesting..............dont bring your gun.

There are a few TPD officers on this forum. It may be than none of them want to fool with a ride-along though. I know GC's only taken me and maybe one other person in his 22 years. And he's promised dustingaunder a ride-along if he ever goes back out on the highway, but I'm praying that doesn't happen. I'm trying to get him to retirement all in one piece, if you know what I mean, and he's a whole lot less likely to get mixed up in something at the Gov's Mansion than he is out on the highways and byways of Oklahoma County.
You might check with whichever OHP Troops are up in the Tulsa area, maybe you could do a ride-along with one of those guys. Good luck!
Hey, BB. Would it have been possible that GC went out last week with reference to Fallin visiting the OSBI? If so, I missed an opportunity to meet him as I was also there.
Also, I'm intrigued about the advice to take waders from one who has done a ride-along.

Hmmmm ... you know, I dunno if he did or not. I posted my experience here and we were all laughing so hard by the end of it that it was actually pretty danged sad! I'm telling you there are people out there who live a lifestyle I simply do NOT understand and my husband got to talk to these folks every single day for 20 years ... I could NOT do that job! And after I went with him and saw what he REALLY does I spent the rest of my time worried sick about him. I'm so glad they promoted him to the Gov's Mansion when they did ...
