It's about to start in about 15 minutes on A&E. I think it will be cool to watch.

A friend of mine who owns storage units wound up with a couple of really nice weatherby rifles.

I've done a few storage auctions and 99% of the time, you're cleaning up someone elses junk. VERY rarely (especially around here with limited people and units) do you find enough to make serious money. Remember, this show only shows what is good TV. It's not entertaining to see miles and miles of lockers full of Christmas trees and worthless crap that people just can't bring themselves to throw out.

I've seen that show once... they found a Colt SAA (about a 50% gun) uncut , Govt Marked, 7 1/2", gun that appraised around $5000 (insurance value--- looked about like a $2500 gun to me). They were into the locker for about a Grand. Same episode they got a 79 Fender Guitar and a Schwin bike.

I'd give that kind of thing a wirl... but the way things go for me, I'd just be high bidder on units full of neatly packed boxes of old packing peanuts and newspaper.

I didn't catch the show, but I like the concept. I love estate sale and yard sale and stuff like that. But I don't think I could blindly bid on something like that. Did they find any dead bodies?

That's a stupid show because the storage owners ALWAYS remove all items of value.

No they don't. I talked with the manager of my storage facility about this several months ago and he said that no one was allowed in, including himself. I don't know if that is an actual law or just a policy, but it is at the very least a SOP for the industry.
