The bidding strategy is based on what you can see from the door.

using that logic... I see a Coleman Camp Stove and Lantern about 3 feet in... and maybe a couple of old Computer monitors or TV's...So maybe that one starts at $10 and tops at $350 for the "mystery stuff" thats out of sight.

Open one up that's full of ...factory Harley Parts boxes or something like that... do you roll the dice and let it go... just to find out those boxes are refilled with Beanie Babies and beef jerky.

I guess everyone has a game of chance that tickles the pickle.

That's a stupid show because the storage owners ALWAYS remove all items of value.

Most of the time, even the storage facility cannot enter the unit according to law. There are different restrictions depending on the reason it's up for auction (private sale, death, non-payment), as well as different restrictions for states. Usually what will happen is the lock is cut off and opened for the first time only on the day of the auction.

My wife manages a storage facility and NO they don't take anything out of the units before an auction because the renter has a right to come in and pay up until the auction starts on their unit. I am a locksmith and I can't even open them up because they put a seal on the hasp and it can't be cut or they will not sell the unit until they invetigate why it was cut. The rule is when you buy a unit it must be cleaned out by the buyer all good stuff and trash must go

I used to go to a few of these, years back. Always thought about doing it again. Figure with the large military population here, a lot of stuff gets left behind. Seen some good "stuff" but not enough to keep me going back and dealing with the crap.

Plus, I always question auctions. Either some one gets auction fever or there is a shill in the crowd. Seen both.

Storage is one way people get rid of toxic waste.... You dont want to buy a unit full of waste, could cost you big bucks to dispose of.

Along those same lines are the units the meth cookers use.... more toxic waste products....

My 2 cents .....
