After you have been laying in bed for awhile and cant go to sleep, try getting up and walking around the house for about a minute or two. Then try to go back to sleep.

Vitamen B in the morning, white noise and a sleep mask (yeah those girly things that keep light out) at night. We have so much ambient light in our world, it really discourages fully restful sleep.

I got to where I wasn't sleeping for several days straight at a time, sleep one night and then awake for 3 or 4 more.
I tried all the non-prescrition stuff out there, they helped for a few days thing back on the insomnia train.
I completely gave up all forms of caffiene to no avail.

Doctor fixed me up and I now sleep regularly again.

I was watching McHale's Navy back in the 80's and one episode had this guy asking another how he went to sleep so fast.
He answered that he blocks out all thought just see darkness and ZERO thought...He went on and said.. Like this...next thing you know he was snoring.

Took me 6 months to master it..
Never read in bed..never watch TV in bed..only thing you do in bed is have sex and sleep...
Train your mind..
If you sit in bed and read for 30 minutes..then count on your mind not sleeping for at least 30 if you skip the book.

My wife uses this now ..she no longer reads in bed.. there is a chair in the room she sits in to read.
Blank your mind...Not logical to think of what you will need to do tomorrow while you are trying to sleep or what went on today...You can't do anything about it while laying there..so just forget it and sleep.

Yes 6 months to perfect it..but i can work any shift and instantly adjust because i can sleep at the drop of a hat.
