A friend of mine is getting ready to start nursing school at OSU-Okc. She doesn't mind driving a little bit. My main concern is that she live in a safe area. Based on where the campus is, I think Yukon or even Edmond would be acceptable. I haven't lived in the city in years. Any suggestions on where she should start looking would be great. Thanks.

She was looking at a place north of the Lake on Meridian. Didn't look great from the pics. But I was hoping for some good general info, like surjimmy gave. Thanks. Keep em coming.

I lived in the Paseo for nearly two years. Everyone might say it's an awful area, but realistically, your chances of being the victim of some violent break-in type crime is just about the same anywhere. I never had a single problem, unless you count some bums walking around at night searching the dumpsters. More and more home invasions are occuring in wealthier neighborhoods, so you can't really say what's "safe" and what isn't, you just have to be prepared. I loved the Paseo.

I live in a mobile home community down on south council that is reasonably priced and very safe. Child and Family friendly. Westmoor is the name of it.

Does she have much of a social life? I hate that to be a factor, but again, if you are driving more then it's hard to say that is safer, especially if she is drinking far away from her would-be home. Odds of being in a traffic accident on a daily commute are probably around the same as victim of burglary/home invasion.
