Looking for AR 15 recommendations for someone new to AR's. Been doing alot of research on the net and finding alot of options. I have bounced around the idea of buying a cheap low end AR to save money, but past experience with buying just about anything else has proved that you get what you pay for. I would really like to keep it under a grand, but if I can get a better AR for a little more I feel it would be a better purchase.

Thanks for the input.

Just my :twocents:.

Colt: Have had several, great shooters, HOLD their value through their name. When I sold one or traded one off.....everybody knew the Colt name.
Kinda like Rolex watches.......the best..no. Well known.....yes.

Bushmaster: Had several of these, catalog of parts, great shooters. Name well known but doesn't hold value(sell or trade) like a Colt.

Armalite: Had several, great shooters.

Anything else in the AR department I don't know, haven't owned, nor shot.

***Maybe my best bit of advice would be: 1. DON'T get in a hurry....there are a Bazillion AR's out there. 2. Shoot as many as you can (friends/rent) PICK OUT what model YOU like.....not what your buddy shoots or the guys at the range have for that month*****

You can't go wrong with Rock River or Colt. Both are great shooting guns. You will pay a premium for a Colt, and IMHO, the Rock River's are a much better value.

All RRA come with the 2-stage trigger, and the fit between the upper and lower receivers is perfect... which I cannot say for Colt.

Come to Claremore and you can shoot one of mine if you lke.

Heck... you can even buy one of them!!! :)

That's what I was going to suggest.
Plus they're both in your neighborhood.
Both are sponsors on this site.
